On February 9th, Judy Graham, our National President, and Administrative Assistant, Mary Filer, had the privilege of meeting with Bishop Scott Jones, our new Bishop in the Texas Annual Conference (“TAC”). We shared the history of Celebration, our current happenings across the U.S., and the origin of the TAC Prayer Room that Celebration initiated over 17 years ago.

We had prepared a packet containing informational items, such as our Celebration Chapter Manual, our Newsletter and our National Conference Brochure. We also gave him a tri-fold brochure to share with his wife, Mary Lou. He seemed quite pleased to receive the items and we are praying that his wife will be able to join us at future events.

The Bishop was pleased to hear of the events within the ministry and how they affect women in our conference as well as other conferences and denominations.

A fun opening came when the Bishop directed questions to Mary, a mid-term Junior at University of Houston. That beautiful young woman was able to share with Bishop Jones of how Celebration impacted her life and the lives of other youth.

It was a fast 15-minute visit, but we have connected with the Bishop. We felt it was a successful meeting and sensed God’s favor with us. Bishop Jones is now aware of this ministry for women in his conference. We will be a blessing to him through our prayers and support.
